New Church's Stations of the Cross

A slide show

St. Aloysius , Philadelphia 1898

St. Aloysius Church, Philadelphia closed.  We have acquired these 110 year old German stained glass windows.  They will be a treasure for our new church.  We placed the Crucifixion scene with Mary Magdalen kneeling in front of the Cross behind the main altar.  The money we paid for these windows benefited St. Gabriel's Parish and School in Philadelphia. The eight larger panels of glass windows were fitted around the shrines of the Blessed Mother and St. Joseph on each side of the church.

Old Church's Stained Glass Windows

The stained glass windows from our old church were placed within the new daily chapel along with our old altar, tabernacle, statues of the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph, and the Stations of the Cross. Designed by Mr. F. Bolton Morris and produced in 1970 by The Willet Stained Glass Studio under the loving direction of Msgr. Richard J. Simons.  The theme that gives a vital unity to the various scenes depicted in our stained glass windows is one that runs through the entire Bible: the story of our salvation.  The story really begins with the creation of the universe and of man.  We take it up with the entrance of sin into our world.
