#11 Mary, Mother of the Church
Mary
wraps the assemblies of the faithful gathered in their churches within the
folds of her mantle as she gazes lovingly upon them. She enfolds the
churches of both East and West. She
is clothed with the sun, and the moon is beneath her feet. The stars are
scattered in our portrayal rather than clustered, and her robe seems to glow
from the sun in the lower portion of the window. Within
the crescent of the moon, we have the lifegiving waters of baptism into which
is immersed the cross, the source of their life.
