The Descent of the Holy Spirit

The Spirit, in the form of a dove, descends on the apostles gathered in the upper room in Jerusalem.  The band that runs from the dove's tail to the bottom stands for "the sound as of a mighty wind."  The flames are the sevenfold gifts of the Spirit that transformed the timid followers into the courageous witnesses to the risen Christ.
