The Last Day

In the bottom, we note the city of man resting on the foundation of water.  Bending right, we note the ripened wheat.

The sun and moon have fallen from their place in the skies.

Two angels are rushing to gather the elect.  One carries the scales of justice.  The other has a sickle to cut the wheat for harvest, while in his left hand he has a vial from which flows the blood of God's wrath.

In the upper portion, we have the prepared throne, the symbol of God's presence, and it is surrounded by the seven lamps, which are the seven spirits of God.

Prominently standing before the throne is a jeweled cross, the symbol of Christ's triumph and the sacrament of our redemption as seen by St. John in the Apocalypse.
