The Call of Abraham

Abraham, the father of the chosen people, is summoned by Yahweh.  "Leave your country, your family, and your father's house for the land that I will show you."  Abraham, the man of faith, did as God commanded.  God's appearance to Abraham (a "theophany") is represented by clouds and flashing fire, in the center of which we have his name Yahweh in Hebrew characters.  The stars remind us of the promise made concerning Abraham's numerous progeny.
