Our Healing Ministry is Here for YOU
Since 2007, the Healing Ministry at SMM has been bringing the good news
of Jesus to our parish families. Our mission is
to minister to the homebound, sick, elderly, bereaved, nursing home residents, and emotionally suffering family members. While available to help all parishioners, the ministry works closely with the “sandwich generation,” offering positive ways to manage the challenge of balancing their careers, aging parents and young children. The ministry coordinator, Anita Morro, a nurse with over 30 years experience, will counsel and pray with families through the overwhelming uncertainty of “what do we do next” for their parent, child or spouse. We offer guidance regarding end of life issues, long term care direction, care givers’ support, medical and home safety needs, addiction and family counseling referrals, financial aide resources, and many other community services.

The Healing Ministry works in partnership with the HOPE Meal Program, Bereavement and Funeral Support Ministry, The SMM Warm Welcome Program, and the surrounding community resources to draw our parish community closer to Jesus and each other. Over 200 parishioners are presently volunteering to visit these families with meals and Eucharist. We offer educational evenings given by elder lawyers, social workers and health professionals on common topics of concern. Morning Retreats for spiritual enrichment take place throughout the year assuring us that we are precious to Jesus and the parish family.
If you, your family or small group would like to join the effort, or you know someone in need of our support, please call 610-566-8821 ext.121 or anitasmm@verizon.net.
Christ has no body now but ours. By reaching out and serving those who are poor in spirit, body, and mind, we are Jesus’ hands and feet.
Blessings,
Anita Morro, RN, BSN
