RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Welcome!
Saint Mary Magdalen Parish Religious Education is centered on the development of true spiritual values, and the encouragement
of the attitudes, understanding, and behaviors of a member of the Catholic community. Our goal is to
help your child to reach Jesus: to
know that he/she is especially
loved and valued by Christ.
Our catechetical programs begin
in Grade 1 and extends to Grade 7. Students who complete
this program of studies are thus prepared to complete initiation
into the Catholic faith through the sacrament of Confirmation.
Program Overview:
This year, PREP will begin in an asynchronous, online format
with the hope to transition to in-person classes later. The first lesson of each unit will be pre-recorded and the link will be provided to the families. In addition, lessons on the theme of the unit will be pre-recorded each month for the parents. Students enrolled last year are automatically enrolled this year. Registration is complete when your tuition is paid. The tuition payment deadline for this year is September 15. Online payment is available (see link above). Distribution of the textbooks and worksheet folders will occur after the 9:30 AM Mass on Catechetical Sunday, September 19.
Families have the option of completing the online session reviews and Unit Asssessments via the Loyola Press website OR complete the printed worksheets and each Assessment.
PREP program runs from October 3, 2021, through May 1, 2022.
If ‘in-person’ classes are initiated, grades 1 through 5 will meet on the first Sunday of each month; grades 6 and 7 will meet on the second Sunday with additional Confirmation classes scheduled throughout the year (TBD).

Our Mission
We are called by our Baptism to grow in hope and love and to respond to our challenge as Catholics to spread the Word of God.
In answer to this call, our mission is to offer education and opportunities for spiritual growth of both the students and catechists of the program. The Religious Education Program of Saint Mary Magdalen Parish strives to assist parents in helping their children to develop a life-long relationship with Jesus through the
teachings of beliefs, doctrine, tradition and service to others.
