Order of Christian Initiation
An Introduction to Catholicism

How Do I Become Catholic?
Adult Entrance into the Catholic Church occurs through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults or OCIA.
The OCIA is a gradual process of knowledge and formation. Whether unbaptized or baptized in another Christian denomination or faith, this journey helps adults deepen their relationship with God. Our process centers on the teachings and practices of the Catholic faith, emphasizing the value and application of faith in our daily lives. This journey offered through our Introduction to Catholicism will offer you a clear path through the various phases of discerning your call to becoming a Catholic and living the faith. A mentor and sponsor accompanies each individual desiring to become a Catholic. The sponsor may be chosen by the individual or provided by the parish. The sponsors offer support and guidance throughout OCIA and are encouraged to be present throughout the process.
